How I got into hosting events...Well, there was some alcohol involved...I was booked as a singer of the band ´Saint Privat´, which was performing at a party at the ´Ottakringer Brauerei´. Ottakringer is a famous beer brand in Austria and the parties held at the Brewery are legendary. The audience was ordering beer so enthusiastically at the bar, that I remarked: ´I don´t want beer, I need champagne! ´
The next day, an advertising agency booked me for the CCA Gala (Creatic Club Austria), the glamourous award ceremony for the Austrian advertising industry. I managed to survive hosting my first event with the help of some vodka and, entering into the ´Russian spirit´, I toasted with every winner, (and there were lots of them) as the theme of the event was `Party like in Russia´. I subsequently hosted this event six years in a row - totally without vodka.
